I’ve been on the fitness journey for a long time — about 7 years (!!) — searching for the holy grail of workout routines. What will give me the quickest results, but the least amount of effort, but also those booty gains and “cute abs”?
On this ridiculous quest, I tried the classic YouTube booty pump videos that felt like torture. I tried trail running and dreaded it. I tried every cardio machine known to man and paired it with 15 minute abs. Nothing clicked. Nothing got me where I wanted to be.
The truth is, I had no real goal aside from: I want my body to look like a supermodel. I’m 5’2 so that dream was a physical impossibility. Besides that, this is the most LAME reason to exercise.
If your motivation to workout is purely for the *aesthetic* (which I totallyyy get, trust me), it’s going to be so freaking hard to sustain. Eventually you’ll say something like:
“Wow working out sux, who cares what I look like? I’m going to do something that makes me happier.”

Bam. That’s the secret sauce, the prize pig, the magical solution. Joy.
For me, I found joy in jump rope. I have SO much fun that it doesn’t feel like a workout. And guess what? It’s more than a year later, and I’m still jumping.
Life can be hard as heck, so if you’re lucky enough to stumble upon something that brings you joy, promise me — promise YOURSELF — that you’ll run full force towards your joy. I strongly believe we’re meant to find and cultivate joy in our lives as much as we possibly can. 🌟
There are so many ways you can move your body, so go out there, get curious, and seek joy! 💚
🧑🍳 UNRECIPE SECTION 🥣
Another thing that brings me joy: tasty, unnecessarily beautiful and decadent snacks.🤤
I tend to create with absolute reckless abandon in the kitchen and use whatever ingredients spark my interest. So, please don’t treat this as a step-by-step instructional, but instead as a guide to help you achieve your own snackiest dreams ✨
🍯 HONEY FIGS & YOGURT
Ingredients
Select ingredients that bring you joy and measure with your heart.
Whole Milk Greek Yogurt (Strauss is my favorite, use yours)
Figs
Honey
Cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Chopped nuts (I use walnuts!)
Bonus: Cardamom
Assembly
Plop out some greek yogurt into your favorite bowl.
Sprinkle a pinch of salt (brings all the flavor out!) as well as cinnamon and cardamom, if using.
Cut figs in half and add to your bowl.
Sprinkle on your chopped nuts of choice.
Drizzle lovingly with honey and enjoy some snack time bliss.
